Occupants of a private school hostel located near the main gate of a tertiary institution in Imo State woke up last Wednesday and found a new born inside the septic tank in the hostel.
The occupants woke up to the cry of a baby but could not tell where it was coming from. Their curiosity spurred them to organize a search party and the cry of the baby was traced to the septic tank. Unfortunately the baby was already dead before it was brought out. The baby still had its placenta dangling from its neck. The rescue team then searched all the rooms occupied by female students but could not trace the baby’s mother.
The issue has been reported to the police in Owerri and investigations have been intensified.
