Davido The Dami Duro singer enjoyed a massively successful year 2012. From collaborations with Akon and D’Banj to winning the Next Rated @ the Headies and giving out N500 000 on his birthday. He is also the Most Searched Nigerian Musician in a recent list released by Google. With his O.B.O clothing line set for release next year, he might be gracing this list again come next December.
Wizkid Ever since his Holla @ Your Boy track launced him into the limelight, Wizkid has showed no signs of slowing down just yet. This year alone, he and his EME crew toured some states in the US which earned him rave reviews from some of America’s top acts such as The Game, Wale, Beenie Man and others. He won two awards at the NEA awards in New York, got nominated alongside Sarkodie, Camp Mulla and others for the World Wide Act category at the MTV EMAs, rocked the city of Manchester with his ‘Wizkid Star Boy U.K’ tour, won alongside Kanye and Jay Z at the BET awards, won the Artist of the Year at the Headies and contributed to the success of the recent EME Christmas Concert organized by his EME label and R28. Busy lad, that one.
D’Banj His summer hit track Oliver Twist earned him more awards this year than any other Nigerian musician. Some would say that his split from Don Jazzy was a G.O.O.D thing for him. He won the Song of the Year at the Headies, Best African Act at the MTV EMAs, Best African Act at the MOBO Awards, Most Stylish Male artist at the FAB Awards. Impressive! Oliver Twist also earned him four nominations at the World Music Awards which was supposed to hold on 20 Dec but was cancelled due to some issues. He was also slatted to perform at the show. He landed one of the biggest deals in Africa when he signed an exclusive Pan African deal with SONY. D’Banj also brought some of the World’s most successful acts to Nigeria for the Koko Concert. Even though the show received major criticism from the media and fans alike, it made D’Banj the most followed celebrity in Nigeria on Twitter. Oshe!

Both brothers are expectant fathers in the new year. With multiple awards this year, club rocking collaborations with Akon and Rick Ross and hugely successful concerts across African countries, the Okoye boys are a sure thing when it comes to entertainment success.
