KORA Awards 2012-Chidinma Wins

The 2012 KORA Awards held on Sunday night in the Ivory Coast and Project Fame winner Chidinma walked away with the Best African Female Act award for ‘Kedike’ beating Omawumi’s ‘If u ask me’. Davido bagged the Best New Comer Awards. D’banj, however, failed to win the Best African Male Act category(Sorry to him).

Rihanna Posts Pictures of Guns on Instagram, Flies to Africa with Chris Brown

So we know Bad Girl RiRi can be a bit over-the-top sometimes but Guns? The 24-year-old Bajan beauty posted photos of her supermodel gal pal Cara Delevingne and one of an elderly woman—in which both are wielding guns. The caption of one of the photos reads “thug life” in reference to the late rapper Tupac. One user thot the photos were a bad idea since they come barely weeks after the school shooting in Newtown and commented “Think for once for God’s sake”. Another wrote “All those children in Connecticut died because of guns”. Has Riri hit on some nerves? In other news, she flew into Abidjan on Sunday with Breezy for the KORA Awards 2012 where Chris was the guest artist. Chris whose slatted to arrive Abidjan on Saturday ahead of the show later that night, arrived late as a result of delayed flight and the organizers had to reschedule. He arrived in the early hours of Sunday with Rihanna by his side.

Koko Concert 2012, Epic Fail?

D’Banj’s Koko Concert headlined by Idris Elba with Pusha T, Big Sean and Tinie Tempah has made him the most followed celebrity in Nigeria on Twitter. But the show which was held on 27 Dec has received mixed reviews. There are allegations that D.Banj showed preferential treatment to guests in the VIP and those who paid for tables as against the regulars. Also, the show was said to be poorly organized as it started way behind schedule and most of the foreign acts took too long on stage. Ice Prince and the EME crew reportedly didn’t get a chance to perform. But before the show even started, guests had to trek a along distance to get to the stage! Denrele Edun who was spotted among the trekkers tagged it ‘the worst day’ of his life.

So remember the last time I made a post about Idris hosting Koko Concert this year? I said ‘Fine Man Candy’. That’s cause this brother is darn fine! Love him BTW.
